UNSC Infinity vs UNSC Forward Unto Dawn - Scale by Lopez-The-Heavy UNSC Infinity vs UNSC Forward Unto Dawn - Scale by Lopez-The-Heavy
UNSC INFINITY
CLASS: Infinity
REGISTRY: INF-101
SUBLIGHT CONFIGURATION: XR2 Boglin Fields: S81/X-DFR (Deuterium Fusion Reactor)
TRANSLIGHT CONFIGURATION: Mark X Macedon/Z-PROTOTYPE #78720HDS (Remote Carriage)
PRIMARY ARMAMENT: CR-08, Series-8 MAC (4)
SECONDARY ARMAMENT: M42 Archer (350 pods x 24 missiles)
TERTIARY ARMAMENT: M75 Rapier (250 pods x 30 missiles)
QUATERNARY ARMAMENT: M96 Howler (500 pods x 20 missiles)
QUINARY ARMAMENT: M965 Fortress 70mm Point Defense Network (830 guns)

A warship unparalleled in human innovation, UNSC Infinity is easily the largest and most powerful vessel ever employed by Earth. Although it was originally designed to contend with the Covenant, the war’s end recommissioned Infinity for peaceful exploration and research – until it discovered the Forerunner world of Requiem and was mercilessly pulled into the maw of the planet. Now, the fate of Infinity and its crew is inexorably tied to that of the Master Chief, as the ending of a 100,000-year story finally takes shape.

UNSC FORWARD UNTO DAWN
CLASS: Charon (Light Frigate)
REGISTRY: FFG-201
SUBLIGHT CONFIGURATION: Naoto Technologies: V4/L-DFR (Deuterium Fusion Reactor)
TRANSLIGHT CONFIGURATION: Series IV CODEN/SFTE – Main
PRIMARY ARMAMENT: Mark II, Light Coil – 83B6R3/MAC (Magnetic Accelerator Cannon)
SECONDARY ARMAMENT: M58 Archer Missile Delivery System (50 pods)
TERTIARY ARMAMENT: M870 Rampart 50mm Point Defense Guns (4 guns)
QUATERNARY ARMAMENT: M4093 Hyperion Nuclear Delivery System (3 silos)

Classical light frigate design, the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn is most renowned for its service on the frontlines in defense of Earth and its pursuit of Covenant forces through the Forerunner portal at Voi. There, the Dawn fought alongside a renegade Sangheili fleet and defeated the Covenant, ultimately bringing an end to the war. Unfortunately, upon its return to Earth, the ship was rent in two while passing through a collapsing slipspace portal, sending the fore of the vessel back to Earth, while the aft section, containing the Master Chief and Cortana, absently floated in uncharted space for years.

Technically the Dawn isn't a Charon class light frigate in the Halo 4 game, assuming because 343 didn't like the original design, which if that's the case I agree with them. I believe the Dawn is the same type of frigate as those seen exiting the Infinity in the Spartan Ops series, a Strident class of frigate, seeing as they both have the same hexagonal shape and three engines.

Well they done it. The first Infinity-class warship commissioned into the UNSC NAVY. The length of the ship is 5,694.2 metres (18,682 ft). Along with the height 1,041.2 metres
(3,416 ft). And the crew amount is over 17,000. My God they need to design more these ships. O.O

The Infinity was concepted by Halsey for the Spartens and the War against the Covenant and there Battleships and Flagships are almost as big as the Infinity.

Wrong. They've got their cannon right. It was commissioned by ONI. While on going developments in bio-augmentation opened up the option to begin the Spartan IV program and to have an on ship company assigned. It was not so with the original inception of the design.

I just saw a the Spartan Ops trailer where the Infinity outsized a Covenant cruiser, futher more the cruiser was torn appart by the Infinity simply ramming into it!

Time for some serious payback!

-I hope Arby wasnt on that ship ;)

I don't think Humanity is that far ahead... maybe millennia ago, but not the other half of the 2500s.

Did the developers changed what the Foward Unto Dawn looked like?

Its design here looks completly different from what it looked like from Halo 3 [link]

Yes, they did that.
From Halopedia: "Currently, no canonical reason has been given for its upgrade, though 343 Industries designers have noted that many notable and iconic elements will be given a "facelift" for Halo 4."

I could understand if the design is a postwar UNSC ship class after a needed time to rebuild and upgrade its forces.......

but, the Foward Unto Dawn..... during the Covenant war?

My brain is already getting a headache as to how is this canoncal to the story.....

I understand your headache, I didn't understand it at first either. But honestly I think the ship looks better in Halo 4 than 3. just saying. The Dawn in Halo 3 looked kinda fat and cumbersome, no elegance in the design.

Don't trust the Wiki though, according to it the Infinity's decks are only 1.1 meters in height.
